  Mobile Ventilation Unit MVU-60

  The powerhouse in our mobile ventilation line, the MVU® 60 is one of the largest units we manufacture and provides massive air movement unlike any other ventilation unit with several customizable options available.

  • Massive 60" Seven Blade Aluminum Impeller
    The combined massive 60” (1.5 meters) seven (7) blade aluminum impeller and steel shroud are capable of generating air movement unlike any other ventilation unit around.
  • Massive Air Movement
    At a calculated 400,000 Open Air Flow CFM (679,000 m3/hr), the mobile ventilation unit 60 will ventilate nearly anything caught downwind from it.
  • Hydraulic Powered
    All of the unit’s mechanical actions, including the fan’s blade rotation, are powered by its extremely reliable hydraulic system. The hydraulic pressure is generated by the legendary Cummins Diesel engine, mounted under the MVU®^s silencer hood.
  • Optional Features
    The MVU® 60 proudly offers a number of options in addition to its standard features that are designed to help you overcome any unique challenges you may face in your specific application. From ventilator lift to the rotation, to a high volume water misting system, these options give you the power to pick and choose exactly what you need to ensure you’re properly equipped to ventilate effectively and efficiently.
  • Scissor Lift Option
    The optional Scissor Lift package allows the unit to be easily elevated on level ground to the height of up to nearly 10′ (3 meters). The lifting action is delivered through hydraulic pressures generated by the engine.
  • Ventilator Tilt Option
    Available with an optional Tilt Package which allows the ventilators to be directed either 30° up or down, greatly increasing the unit’s ability to ventilate elevated or lowered areas. Tilt controls are powered by the hydraulic pressure system.
  • Ventilator Rotation Option
    The ventilators can be rotated 380° continuously, in either direction with the Ventilator Rotation Option. The rotation action is powered by a 24V electric motor
  • Misting System Option
    Incredibly valuable in a number of scenarios such as hazmat, decontamination, and general cooling, the Misting System Option allows you to throw 87 GPM of water through 8 misting nozzles up to 130′ (40 meters) downstream from the ventilator.
  • Controls
    Unit controls are electronic and electronic over hydraulic by both fixed panel with controls and a wired or wireless remote control.
  • Unit Mounting
    Tempest offers a number of mounting options for the MVU® 60. Some platforms include custom tandem axle trailers, domestic and foreign commercial truck chassis, rail cars, hook-lift skid systems and more. All of these mounts can be custom ordered and installed through Tempest.

  Mobile Ventilation Unit MVU-48

  The MVU® 48 is a slightly scaled down version of our MVU® 60, about 4,000 lbs lighter in fact but still provides massive air movement unlike any other ventilation unit with several customizable options available:

  • Massive 48" Seven Blade Aluminum Impeller
    The combined massive 48” (1.2 meters) seven (7) blade aluminum impeller and steel shroud are capable of generating air movement unlike any other ventilation unit around.
  • Massive Air Movement
    With its calculated 380,000 Open Air Flow CFM (645,624 m3/hr), the 48 is able to complete nearly any ventilation job in minutes, if not seconds; saving precious time, money, resources, and possibly even lives.
  • Hydraulic Powered
    Like the MVU® 60, all of the 48’s mechanical actions, including the fan’s blade rotation, are powered by a reliable hydraulic system. The hydraulic pressures are generated by its turbocharged Cummins Diesel engine, mounted under the MVU^™'s silencer hood. Every MVU®-48 is custom built by Tempest’s team of engineers and fabricators.

  GASOLINE-POWERED SMOKE EJECTORS

  Tempest’s GBS Smoke Ejector series is a popular unit for all forms of confined space ventilation, a design that’s been used for decades. It’s light and small enough to ventilate tight areas yet still built to Tempest’s high standard of long lasting durability and reliability. The GBS’s Honda GX engines deliver massive performance out of a compact footprint. Pull the smoke/fumes/particulates out from almost any location, or turn it around and blow them out.

  • YOUR CHOICE OF POWERFUL MOTORS
    Our GBS Confined Space Smoke Extractor comes standard with a gas motor with an output range of either Honda GX120 3.5HP or the Honda GX160 4.8 HP. Each motor is perfectly matched with the 16-inch fan blades and pitch to produce the most effective air movement possible.

  Belt – Drive Gas Power Blower

  Tempest exclusive belt-drive design reduces engine wear, improves CFM performance, and provides greater stability.

  • AIRFLEX COMPOSITION IMPELLER
    Uniquely designed impellers deliver maximum air volume (CFM), velocity, and pressure from each Tempest Power Blower™. Every size and type of fan features a blade designed specifically for it to deliver the greatest performance possible. Composite blades are much safer than traditional metal blades as they are designed to disintegrate upon the impact of any foreign objects. Metal blades may fragment when integrity is compromised, potentially causing severe injury.
  • WELDED STEEL ROLL CAGE FRAME
    Every bend and cross brace weld is structurally engineered to increase the blower frame’s strength to weight ratio by as much as 30%. Welds eliminate the need to continuously maintain/tighten nuts and bolts. Its roll cage design gives protection to all angles and sides of the shroud and motor.
  • ERGONOMIC DESIGN
    The exclusive frame design makes it convenient to lift, carry, and transport. Numerous points on the frame double as lifting/carrying handles. The design itself is the result of three decades of testing, research, and experience to create the most ergonomic platform possible.
  • FOOT OPERATED TILT ADJUSTMENT
    No levers to set or knobs to tighten when setting the angle for PPV/PPA. Foot-operated adjustment is quick, easy, and secure. Allows for up to 5 (4 on 16” models) tilt positions: -5°, 0°, +5°, +10°, +15°
  • BELT DRIVEN
    The Tempest Belt-Drive positive pressure ventilation fans were designed with two major goals in mind. The first was to keep the engine at the lowest center of gravity as possible. Doing so greatly reduces the amount of vibration produced by the fan and guarantees it will not “walk”. Secondly, the belt/pulley system allows Tempest engineers to maximize the RPM’s at the blade, optimizing CFM output. The Belt-Drive has been categorized as the “Cadillac” of PPV fans.
  • GASOLINE ENGINES – PPA
    Gasoline-powered fans offer the highest CFM performance available. Ranging anywhere from 4.8 to 8.5 HP, these positive pressure ventilation fans are recommended for the implementation of Positive Pressure Attack (PPA) in residential structures.
  • 8″ NON-PNEUMATIC WHEELS
    Extra-wide 8″ off-road non-pneumatic tires are more durable and allow easy movement up and down stairs, over curbs, and large diameter hoses, as well as through rough or muddy terrain. No brakes to forget to lock down or unlock. The positive pressure ventilation fan rests on firm, anti-vibration rubber feet for stability. “Walking” or movement of blower while in operation is eliminated. The risk of getting clothing in PPV fan blades while kneeling to set brake levers is eliminated.
  • TURBO 2000 SHROUD
    By redesigning the inward curve and front of the shroud, the Turbo 2000 increases air velocity by up to 30%. The air hitting the ventilation opening is stronger and maintains PPV pressure farther downwind.
  • DUAL “WINNING STEP”
    No levers to set or knobs to tighten when setting the angle for PPV. Foot-operated adjustment is quick, easy, and secure. The dual step allows for adjustment with either foot. Four back and one forward tilt position.
  • SAFETY GRILLE
    Front and rear safety grilles feature a continuous spun wire body with eight tie point bars that also support the “Turbo 2000” shroud integrity. Meets strict European CE Safety Standards.
  • INFORMATION/SAFETY BAR

  ELECTRIC-POWERED SMOKE EJECTOR

  The Tempest EBS-16, or Box Fan, is popular for all forms of confined space ventilation.

  • • Negative Pressure Ventilation (NPV)
      Negative Pressure Ventilation (NPV), as opposed to Positive Pressure Ventilation (PPV), is the method of using a fan to suck out unwanted particulates rather than blowing them out. The Tempest EBS-16’s size and design is most effective and efficient at NPV; although, PPV may still be utilized in some circumstances.
    • Light Weight
      At 47 lbs, the Tempest EBS-16 is one of the lightest weight ventilation units available. It’s reduced dimensions and frame design allow users to easily carry it to and from the work site.
    • Single Speed AOC Motor
      The Tempest EBS-16 comes standard with a single speed electric AOC motor with an output of 0.3 HP. This specific motor is matched perfectly with the fan blade’s size and pitch to produce the most effective air movement possible.
    • Formed & Welded Roll Cage Frame
      Not an ounce of Tempest’s well known reliability and durability that comes standard on every fan was sacrificed to achieve this unit’s small stature and light weight. The frame is made entirely of steel; all molded, formed and welded into a sturdy roll-cage design. Like every Tempest, it’s built to last on the job site.
    • Compact Size
